  • Throwback: MSM – I’m The Only One

I may be the only person on Twitter who even knows who MSM (Miami Sound Machine; the revival girl group put together my Emilio Estefan) is. But I loved me some them way back in 2001. This was their debut (only?) single, released by Sony Music, “I’m The Only One”.

They went on to have pretty good success in Spain as a primarily Spanish girl group. I had to hit up eBay to find a copy of the album that should have been released in the states. From that set, 5 songs still reside on my iPod.

I’ve always had a special place in my heart for cheesy girl groups and boy bands that sing generic pop (this was during the famed Latin explosion), so it’s easy to see why I gravitated towards MSM. Check them out!

  • Music Video: Jessie J – “Who’s Laughing Now”

I don’t know why people still aren’t talking more about Miss Jessie J. They need to. This woman got pipes and she’s actually singing about stuff that matters. It’s not all party or sex songs, like free radio is littered with these days.

Anyway, I dig her newest video for “Who’s Laughing Now” and how she takes a stand, in her own way, against bullying. I wish more artists (across all genres) would speak up and actually sing/rap about SOMETHING. ANYTHING! Take a page out of Jessie’s books, ya’ll!

    Anyway, enjoy!

The video makes me like the song more! And, as always, love Pixie’s dancing/choreo! So mission accomplished! Bravo, Pixie!

  • Music Video: Skylar Grey – “Dance Without You”

Welp, the video matches the song pretty well! But it’s still a little too “out there” for me even though I absolutely love the drums and overall production. Sometimes, it just be’s like that. Ya know? Still love Skylar and looking forward to this project!

  • Music Video: Chipmunk Feat. Chris Brown – Champion

First of all, dude’s stage name is chipmunk? Really? Of alllll the names available? Ok.

Anyway, I know I’m late, but I’m feelin’ not only this song, but the video as well. Breezy’s done a ton of projects with Collin Tilley, and they all are solid. Take a listen to Breezy’s verse as well. You know that shit came straight from the heart and fit perfectly with the theme of the song.

Now this upcoming collabo with Bieber? Already cringing at the thought of that one.

    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Don’t know how they pulled off that walking backwards thing, but that was pretty damn cool.

Damnit, Pixie! Release yo’ shit over here in the States! We need you!

  • Music Video: Pixie Lott – Broken Arrow

I’m sorry. Pixie can do no wrong. Another simple, classy, and beautiful music video for “Broken Arrow”, which appears on the re-release of Miss Lott’s debut album, Turn It Up Louder (album cover). I love the dancing she does in this. Reminds me of the “Gravity” video. It’s different, but very expressive. As a former ballerina, I really appreciate the way she incorporates it into her music videos.

Ok, enough gushing. Watch the video below:

  • Music Video: Jessie James – Boys in the Summer

Fun summer song with a great video to match! Although I wonder if there’s a more pop-oriented mix…

ETA: Here is the pop version. It’s late, so I really can’t tell that much a difference lol

  • Robyn Dances On Her Own; Pre-Order Her New Album

I’ve loved Robyn since her “Show Me Love”, “Do You Know What It Takes”, & “Do You Really Want Me” days. I know she doesn’t really make that kind of music before (she was Britney before Britney was Britney), but her new song, “Dancing On My Own” is trending back towards that sound. It should be a hit on the Dance charts for sure!

Robyn’s next record gets a US release, Body Talk Pt. 1, June 15th and you can pre-order now:
