    Stacie Orrico

Right now I know some of y’all are like “who the hell is Stacie Orrico?” If you’re one of those people, the following gif is for you:

    killyoself

Nuttin’ but love for y’all, but it’s time for you to get acquainted with Miss Orrico. She’s immensely talented and an absolute sweetie (met her back in the day). She started out a Christian artist, then crossed over to mainstream popularity with catchy pop singles such as “Stuck” and “(There’s Gotta Be) More To Life”, which appear on her self-titled album. She was planning a US release the follow-up, Beautiful Awakening, thanks to the lovely lead single “I’m Not Missing You”. That song still resides on my iPod to this day.

However, I believe things fell apart with Stacie’s label, then she decided to take some time off, travel, live life, and what not, so some of us thought her music journey ended. Not soooooooo…

Stacie sent an email to her long-supporting fansite, So Stacie, which announced her return!

Hi everyone! I’ve returned from my holiday in Japan to find an e-mail from none other than the lovely Miss Orrico herself! She would like to thank you all for your amazing continued support over the years, and revealed that new music is indeed on its way! In the US, this new music is looking to be released along with a relaunch of Beautiful Awakening too, so all the US fans who missed out on the Beautiful Awakening era can get pumped! Stacie said the new album will be a continuation of where she left off from Stacie Orrico and Beautiful Awakening and that a record deal inking is foreseeable in the very near future. Most of all, Stacie assured us fans that music is and will always be a part of her life, whether it be singing, writing or producing for other artists. So, with that, let’s all hear a big “HIP HIP HOORAY!!” and stay tuned to So Stacie for further news on the return of our favourite singer!!

Hooray, indeed! Now, seriously. Get to know this girl! Go on. Do it, now!

ETA: Now that I think about it, when I met her, I took video of her acoustic performance. It was amazing. I’ma try to find it!

  • Skylar Grey Reveals Album Title

    Skylar Grey

The constant teasing all led to this: the announcement that Skylar Grey’s album is called Invinsibile. No, not invisible, or invincible; but invinsible. She did this on purpose! But she should be prepared for months of misspellings of her album title. Just sayin’.

The official press release also provides song titles such as “Weirdo,” “Building A Monster” and “Final Warning”.

“I have been working so hard with Alex on this music; I’m excited it’s finally going to be out there for everyone to hear. I won’t have to describe it anymore, because the music can finally speak for itself,” says Grey. “Also, I’m very influenced by film and it is my hope that when people listen to my music, they are consumed with vast, cinematic imagery.”

Still intrigued and still allowing “Dance Without You” to grow on me. Keep on, keepin’ on Miss Grey!

  • Adele Readies New Album, Single

    0

Good music is coming back with a vengeance lately; a trend I’m happy to see continue into early 2011! Next up is British soul singer Adele who, with the voice of an angel, is sure to surpass the success of her first album, 19. The follow-up effort is titled 21 and will be released January 24th in the UK and February 22nd, in the US.

Adele just announced the 1st single as “Rolling In The Deep”, and I can’t wait to hear it!

Here’s what she has to say about the new album:

“I’m very excited, nervous, eager, anxious but chuffed to announce my new album! It’s taken a while and it knocked me for six when writing it. It’s different from “19”, it’s about the same things but in a different light. I deal with things differently now. I’m more patient, more honest, more forgiving and more aware of my own flaws, habits and principles. Something that comes with age I think. So fittingly this record is called “21”. The whole reason I called my first album “19” was about cataloging what happened to me then and who I was then, like a photo album you see the progression and changes in a person throughout the years”.

  • Jessie James Album Pushed Back

    0

Jessie JamesIt happens. A rare occurrence would be if an artist’s release date weren’t changed. So, it’s not really a big surprise that Jessie James’ self-titled debut effort has been pushed back a few weeks. Her self-titled album originally had a July 28th street date, but now August 11th is the date you need to circle on your calendars.

The album cover art has not yet been revealed, but I feel should be getting that relatively soon.
