  • Willa Ford Heads to “Magic City”

    0

Willa, Willa, Willa, whatchu want, whatchu want?

Well, she apparently wants to keep acting, and that’s just fine by me, although I miss my favorite “Bad Girl”. Back in late May, she hinted about a new acting project that she was excited to announce, and she dropped another few tidbits today.

A simple Google search led me to a new STARZ series that goes by the title “Magic City”, set to air next year. Here’s a brief synopsis:

Starz’s upcoming 10-episode drama series Magic City. Set in Miami in the late 1950s-early 1960s, Magic City chronicles the collision of mobsters, politicians and entertainers at the first preeminent Miami hotel just as Fidel Castro takes control of Cuba and shuts down Havana as a gambling haven. It centers on Ike (Morgan), a suave Jewish-American man who builds the hotel and along the way makes some strange bedfellows and many powerful enemies.

The cast includes: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Olga Kurylenko, Jessica Marais, Steven Strait, Christian Cooke, Danny Huston, Jessica Marais, Steven Strait, Christian Cooke, Dominik Garcia Lorido, Elena Satine, Kelly Lynch, Michael Rispoli, Yul Vázquez and Oscar-nominated Seymour Cassel.

IMDB has updated her profile with the “Magic City” casting, and lists her character as “Janice” for what looks to be 3 episodes (nearly a third of the season). Very exciting for Willa, and can’t wait to see what she looks like as a red head!

  • More on Pixie Lott’s Acting Debut

    0

By now we all know that Pixie has caught the acting bug and will appear in Fred: The Movie. And if you’re a Pixie fan and didn’t know that, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!?!

Anyway, more details on this movie project have been revealed in recent days.

First of all, the movie will not be shown in theaters. It’s going straight to tv; Nickelodeon to be specific. It’s set to air this summer on the network.

If you don’t know much about this character, Fred, here’s a little background, courtesy of the NY Times:

Lucas Cruikshank, a 16-year-old from Nebraska, created Fred Figglehorn about four years ago. Since then, the character has become a hit on YouTube. In aggregate, his videos have been viewed over 400 million times. Fred’s whiny voice strikes a lot of adults as fingernails on a chalkboard, but children fall on the floor laughing.
