I’m still in the camp that BET was just downright shady & planned that shit. You don’t have “mix ups” involving Chris Brown and Rihanna. There’s no way. Now that everyone is calling them on their bullshit, they’re coming up with excuses; excuses that no one’s buying. That’s why BET can’t have nice things. The. End.
For those of us who aren’t fortunate enough to be able to attend one of Vanessa Carlton’s live shows, YouTube shows up with the clutch save!

“Who’s To Say” (which is quite possibly my favorite VC song)

See, this is what I’m talkin’ about! A musician sitting behind a piano (or with any other instrument) and just singing. Don’t need any risque outfit, backup dancers, or audio effects to let the talent show through!
Watching a video like this is why I fell in love with Skylar’s voice in the first place. It’s so unique! I fear the direction she’s going in, with this alternative pop sound, will mask or distort the sound that I’ve come to love. We’ll just have to see! Her official 1st single is coming soon!
Well, fear not for livestream has provided an archived video for your viewing pleasure! Watch below:
I told myself last summer, when Josh Kelley announced he was going full blown country — and I listened to his 1st country single, Georgia Clay — that I was done. (See: Jessie James)
I can handle some country, but really only the super pop-friendly crossover kind that gets played on Top40 radio. Think Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum now, and Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, and Shania Twain, from the late 90s.
Josh has always straddled the line between pop and country, dating back to his debut, “Amazing”, which still holds a place on my iPod. I’ve also seen him live many, many times. I don’t know if it was just the official change in genre, but Josh Kelley “going country”, scurred me away!
Today, I stumbled across a performance of new single, “Gone Like That”, on The Talk. Survey Says: I liked it! Sounded a lot like his older material, which I enjoyed. “Georgia Clay” (the single, not the album) was too country for me.
Was my initial disapproval of “Country Josh Kelley” premature? I hate to admit it, but it could be! I’ma check out the album and see if anything changes. I’ll have to reclaim my spot on the fandom. I’m allowed! I was there in 2003! Where were y’all? I kid, I kid.
