For those of you unfamiliar, The Box was an awesome cable network that played absolutely NOTHING BUT MUSIC VIDEOS. It was on basic cable, so it’s leaps and bounds better than MTV Hits. MTV bought The Box, turned it into what is now MTV2, but stripped it of all its personality and awesomeness. Simply put, it was bad ass! It also showed video of up-and-coming, underground, and alternative artists and groups; something you wouldn’t see on places like MTV and VH1 back in the day. You could call in, at any time of the day, and request videos. I used to record music videos onto VHS tapes from The Box. It’s too bad I can’t find those tapes now. Probably quite a few gems on there!

It was while watching “The Box” that I found Sky, a duo from Canada. Sky created a pop/rock/R&B fusion type sound that I fell in love with. “Love Song” was the first song of theirs I heard and it led me to buy their album, Piece of Paradise, which I still enjoy to this day.
