Pixie Lott Confirmed for Rihanna’s Full UK Tour?

I touched on this in my last Pixie post, but MTV UK is reporting that Pixie’s appearance at the Newcastle show is not a one-off event. Click Music reported the news about the Newcastle show with the caveat that “it’s not yet been revealed whether this means she’s supporting on the whole tour.”

Now, in a post-Brit awards article, MTV UK has gone on record as stating that Pixie will indeed support Miss Rihanna for her entire UK tour. Pixie confirms this much on her official website and MySpace.

In other Rihanna news- although Pixie Lott walked away without a gong at The BRIT Awards, she has still been announced to join Ri’ on her UK tour in May.

The tour will kick off in Birmingham on May 7th and will end in Glasgow on May 20th.

Live dates:

Birmingham LG Arena – 7 May
Liverpool Echo Arena – 8
London The O2 – 10 and 11
Sheffield Arena – 13
Nottingham Trent FM Arena – 14
Manchester MEN – 16
Newcastle Metro Arena – 17
Glasgow SECC – 19 and 20

So, fans are in for a treat as both of these women rock! I’m jealous! I can only hope that Rih remembers Pixie when she does her US tour later this year!

More News on Pixie Lott’s American Debut

It’s getting closer, and I can’t wait! Here’s the latest from the Daily Star:

MY first album Turn It Up is getting re-packaged for an American audience.

The next step for me is to release a single in the US so I’m currently writing songs with a more American sound and in March I’ll be promoting in LA.

The album will be half what is out now – the singles like Cry Me Out – and the rest will be new.

In January I wrote seven new songs with one of my favourite writers, Toby Gad, and I also wrote a duet with the singer from Plain White T’s, Tom Higgenson. Hey There Delilah is one of my favourite songs.

Pixie’s been tweeting a lot lately about working with Toby Gad. He’s worked with a lot of artists I already like, so I like this move. And while I already adore Turn It Up, I do think it’s good move to record some new songs for the US release. Consumers can be really fickle over here!

In other news, Pixie’s also been writing with Joe Jonas. I hope the rabid JoBro fanbase leaves her alone. She’s awesome wrapped up in fabulous.

Lastly, Pixie’s been confirmed to provide support Rihanna at her Metro Radio Arena Show in Newscastle. This in no way means she’s the designated Rated R tour opener, but that pairing would be awesome, right? When Rih-Rih does her US tour (and she better!), I would absolutely love for Pixie to get that support slot so she can be properly introduced to American audiences. I think Rih’s fans would dig her music. I know I already do!

Actually, for my own selfish reasons, I’d like to see Pixie do a small intimate club tour a la Joss Stone. You really get to know the musician before they blow up and you can’t get within 500 ft of them ever again!

So, that’s the Pixie news for now! March can’t come soon enough!

Chris Brown Previews New Mixtape

< begin rant > I’m gonna preface this with the following message: I know Breezy messed up big time. We all know this. However, unlike some, I don’t think he should be banned from creating/sharing music for the rest of his life. He def lost some cool points with me for roughin’ up my girl Rihanna, but the bottom line is that he’s paying his debt to society. He makes great music, and can dance his ass off, so I want to see more!

When Charlie Sheen (who is middle-aged, and with a history of abuse) got busted recently, I didn’t see anyone calling for him to get fired from his job. No one was organizing boycotts of CBS or his show. No one was drafting letters to people who do business with him, urging them to terminate their sponsorships. (Though Hanes did pull his ads, they were the only ones) People seemed to accept his actions as normal and move on without outrage. They couldn’t do that with a 19 year old man who has only messed up once? That’s all I needed to throw my support behind Chris. People need love the most when they deserve it the least.

I know many won’t agree with me, and that’s cool. This site is title “Just My Faves”, which means MY faves, and not necessarily yours ;) < / end rant >

Now, that I’ve gotten that out of the way, let me talk about something positive: new Breezy tunes! Looks like Chris is looking to get his grown and sexy on with the release of a new mixtape titled In My Zone on Valentine’s Day. He jumped on Ustream with Kevin McCall the other night to give fans a 25 minute preview. Watch it below:

I’m diggin’ most of the tracks he shared and Chris looks happy. He’s in his element in the studio. It seems like the studio and the stage are the only places he feels he can be free. Will definitely be copping the mixtape. The last album I bought was Chris’ Graffiti, and that’s saying a lot, as I don’t buy many CDs.

I haven’t seen any specific places where this mixtape will be available, but I’m sure word will spread in the coming 2 weeks.

Get ready for Pixie Lott, America!

FINALLY!

There have been hints here and there that Pixie Lott would eventually release music in the United States. It’s been in articles and interviews from Miss Victoria herself. From those, we know that she’s filmed a movie — Fred: The Movie — and that “Cry Me Out” may be her 1st US single. And now it seems like the press is finally beginning for Pixie’s American push.

Billboard Magazine has a new preview of Artists to Watch for 2010. These are the acts they think are going to break out this year. I was super glad to see Pixie Lott on the list!

The big bullet points from the feature was that the label has not chosen Pixie’s lead US single yet, but they expect to do that, and set radio impact date in the coming weeks!

Don’t know about anyone else, but I can’t wait! Let’s goooo!

On Tuesday, Miss Melanie Fiona will tape a performance for the not-so-live Jimmy Kimmel Live show to air later that night. I poke fun at the “live” portion of the show’s title because technically, it does not air live.

I’d give you a link to get tickets to the show, but it’s already sold it!

Check your local listings for when the show airs in your market. It varies as the show is syndicated. Click here for the official show website.
