I approve!
I must confess that I’ve been wearing out Breezy’s new album (Deluxe Version, of course), and there is no shortage of hits on that joint! Think what you will about the man himself, but his music is fire! I pre-ordered it, so still supporting
“She Ain’t You” was definitely on my list for must-release tracks, and a Spring release is very smart. Any song that sample’s Michael’s “Human Nature” will be a hit in my book. SWV’s “Right Here (Human Nature)” is, to this day, one of my alltime favorites. Mostly because of the MJ sample! It’s a classic!
I also think “Next 2 You” featuring Justin Bieber, and “Wet The Bed” featuring Ludacris deserve consideration for future singles. I would say that he absolutely must release “Paper Scissors Rock”, but since it only appears on the deluxe version of the album, that’s probably unlikely. Bummer. Regardless, I think, if people have truly gotten back in Chris Brown’s corner (musically), then this album will be a success.
There has also been some chatter about “She Ain’t You” being the urban single, while “Next 2 You” will be sent to mainstream radio. Haven’t seen any confirmation of this move, but I personally don’t think he needs to release separate songs for his second single. I think SAY can get airplay at both Urban and Pop radio.
When I think about it, his last album, Graffiti, was released just months after “the incident”, and it still sold about 100k. This one should at least do 150k. He’s coming off of 2 major urban radio hits and “Look At Me Now” is Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. We’ll see!
Catch Breezy doing some TV promo this week as he hits BET’s 106 & Park Monday & Wednesday, as well as GMA Tuesday morning. Later in the week his video with Big Sean debuts on 106 & Park, and his SNL episode re-airs Saturday.
ETA: I guess this title should simply be “next single” since Lord knows how many of the ones out now technically count towards this album. But you get the picture!
Jessie J was joined by B.o.B. on SNL to perform “Price Tag”, and then later hit the stage solo for “Mamma Knows Best”.

Jessie absolutely killed “Mamma Knows Best”! What a voice!
P.S. Does anyone else this it’s funny that I blog about two talented singers here named Jessie James and Jessie J? I do. Although there probably won’t be as much Jessie James anymore, since she went full-on country. Not really a fan…
It’s been quite a year ofr Skylar Grey! Earlier, she wrote the killer hook on Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love The Way You Lie”. It blew up and earned multiple Grammy nominations. She also got the chance to perform during the Grammys with Eminem and Dr. Dre (I Need A Doctor).
More recently, Skylar signed a recording contract with Alex Da Kid’s Wonderland Records (Interscope), and then she performs on American Idol with Diddy-Dirty Money.
What a whirlwind! I’m going to start covering Miss Grey (formerly known as Holly Brook) here on JMF, so get use to see her name around here!

I’ve been wondering out loud what Miss Nessa was going to do with this new album. In the latest post, I learned that she left The Inc., but I didn’t know what that meant for the actual release of Rabbits On The Run. Now I know everything!
Vanessa signed with Razor & Tie Records and Rabbits will release on June 21. Can. Not. Wait!
