  • Minuteman Movie Trailer Feat. Willa Ford

    0

Willa Ford in MinutemanWilla Ford’s new movie, Minuteman. She plays the role of “Becca” — one of the leads — and finished shooting it last month. The first trailer was just released.

The movie is set for a vague 2010 release. I expect it to go straight to DVD, although I have no knowledge on the matter. Just a guess.

The official website at www.minutemanthemovie.com is consists of just a splash video, but updates should be on the way.

Here’s a refresher of what the movie is about:

Minuteman is a sci-fi thriller in the tradition of Bourne Identity and Manchurian Candidate. The film revolves around Captain Lance Deakin who, after returning to civilian life as a Texas rancher, is attacked by members of his former Special Forces unit. Brainwashed by the military and turned into killing machines, Lance remembers their top secret missions in Iraq only as Minuteman, the hyper-violent video game they used to play while on tour.

With Lance desperately trying to piece together what actually happened, his former comrades are closing in on him and his fiancee (Willa’s character, Becca) to take them out. Lance is quickly running out of time to uncover the truth and save the woman he loves.

  • Get it, Kate!

Kate Hudson, that is! I’ve been hearing her song, “Cinema Italiano”, in the previews for the movie NINE for the past month or so and I’m impressed! Who knew Miss Hudson had a voice like that? And if you knew, why was I not told? No, she’s no Christina Aguilera, but she has a very nice voice and moves to go with it! Looks like those voice and dance lessons paid off!

Now watch the “music video” for the song.

I’ve always like Kate Hudson. She seems so fun! The type of woman who enjoys life and is a blast to be around. That’s the type of chica I could be friends with! Keep it up, Kate! You done good!

Look at me! Another non-musician post! This one was at least about music, though.

  • Kim Kardashian Is Too Much!

    0

You know, this place it titled “Just My Faves” and thus far I’ve only been talking about my favorite music artists, but I have other fave celebs, personalities, and comedians. Why haven’t I been talking about them? For instance, I love me some Kathy Griffin yet, no posts about her. I think I need to retool what I do here. Nothing wrong with being all over the place, right?

And to begin my spazz posting habits, I want to talk about Kim Kardashian. I don’t know why, but I love the Kardashians. There’s no reason that they should be famous (or relevant), but they entertain the hell outta me! So what if their show is obviously fake? They’re funny, damnit! The Hills could learn a thing or two about having a “faux reality show” while still having likable stars, but that’s a post for another day (Team LC).

Back to Kim! Her Carl’s Jr. salad commercial premiered today. Carl’s Jr. has been hiring reality personalities to market their restaurant, even though one really has nothing to do with the other. They’ve used Paris Hilton and Audrina Patridge in previous spots. So, it’s Kim’s turn and eating rabbit food salad never looked so good!

  • Gia Farrell Brings Holiday Cheer

Gia FarrellAllow me to share something about myself. #1, I do not like Atlantic Records and never have. The list of “My Faves” that they’ve screwed over is entirely too long. First, was Willa Ford, then came Lucy Woodward, and the latest in the line was Gia Farrell.

If you think you haven’t heard of Gia, you have. Remember her song from the Happy Feet Soundtrack called “Hit Me Up”? Sure you do. It was awesome. Her voice is out of this world! Atlantic Records didn’t even let her release her debut album. (Bastards)

Hit Me Up – Gia Farrell

Anyway, she’s on the internet, now simply as “Gia”, trying to drum up interest and shop for a new record deal. I love the girl (used to trade messages with her on MySpace), so I’m going to do my part to help her out.

She’s been posting video performances on her YouTube channel. The most recent is her version of “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”. She’s been recording and posting Christmas videos the past months or so. Watch below:

  • Kelis Signs With Will.I.Am’s Label

I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve always been a fan of Kelis. Just like Melanie Fiona, my cousin turned me onto Kelis. I’m talking way, way, waaaaayyy back in the day. Kelis has always brought a unique style flavor to everything she does and it’s refreshing to see! “Caught Out There” was just so different from everything else that was on TV at the time.

Mainstream caught up to the rest of us when “Milkshake” came out, then promptly forgot about her! Big mistake! Kelis doesn’t feel the need to always been in the news or at events, but when she comes with new material you best listen! (Why did everyone sleep on “Bossy”? I loved that track!)

Anyway, she has recently inked a deal with Will.I.Am, of the Black Eyed Peas, and Interscope. Say what you want about BEP (personally, I love them), but Will knows how to do the producer/label boss deal. If he signed Kelis, you can bet that the album is going to be promoted like it deserves and hopefully this will be a stable home for her. Lord knows she needs it!

Kelis’ lead single for her as-yet-untitled album is called “Acapella”. You can take a listen on her official website.
