Are people deaf? They think she was lipsyncing on this performance? Seriously?
Let me break this down. If you’ve ever heard the CD/single version of this song before, and then saw the Ellen performance, you would not be hatin’ like this. She even changes the cadence on the chorus when she performs this live. There are different adlibs too.
Listen again, folks. If you think this was a lipped performance, you need to set up an appointment with your doctor ASAP! There’s probably a ridiculously large ball of wax stuck in your ear.
If anything, the sync between audio and video may be off. That often happens when you capture video on the computer or rip from DVR. That does not mean the performance was lipped.
Pixie Lott was just a little off going 3-for-3 this week. She had both of her singles go straight to the top of the UK Charts, but the release of her debut album, Turn It Up, couldn’t match the feat of the singles.
Instead, Turn It Up lands at #6 on the albums chart in its first week of release. The top debut of the week belonged to Muse’s The Resistance. Interestingly enough, Pixie remarked, weeks ago, that she thought Muse would earn the top spot.
In other news Pixie attended the Music Meets Media night on September 17, 2009. See a red carpet picture below:
If you haven’t heard this song, you’re missing out. I used to love some of Kaci Battaglia’s material back when she was simply “Kaci”. I think the last thing I remember hearing from her was “Just An Old Boyfriend”, which was pure pop perfection. Oh, how I miss that classic bubblegum teen pop era.
Well, that’s not the sound Kaci’s hitting us with this time around; even though I love this too! She’s angry and just might cut a bish! So you better look out; and keep your hands off her man, ok?!
When artists do acoustic or “uplugged” sets, they automatically become credible to me. They don’t need the autotune, pro-tools, or backing track to sing there song. That’s when they become vocalists to me and not just entertainers. Kristinia DeBarge does a wonderful job on “Sabotage” in this video!
What a start for Pixie Lott! She’s only released 2 singles in her career and both have debuted at the top of the UK Singles Chart! Most artists don’t ever hit #1 and now Pixie has accomplished the feat in her first two tries.
In other Pixie news, she has confirmed, in an interview with DigitalSpy, that her 3rd single will be “Cry Me Out”.

I love, love, love this! I hadn’t really paid that much attention to Jordin Sparks’ “S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)” until I saw the video. I now love it! I like that Jordin’s up in the club and shakin’ it! Go girrrrlll!
As Pixie Lott fans know, Pixie flew a group of fans, media, and family members to Berlin, Germany and back with her as she promotes her soon-to-be-released album, Turn It Up, and new single “Boys and Girls”.
I found this picture of a plane covered with the Pixie Lott logo and it matches the look of the “Pixie Plane” as seen in her live video. The same plane we’ve been hearing about for the past week or so. Looks pretty cool!
You can re-watch “Pixie Lott Live” after the jump. It autoplays, so be ready!
Well, if you take a look at the predictions for the “Best New Artist” category from trusted LA Times Grammy insiders David “Guru” Schnelwar and Darrin “DoubleD” Dortch. If you’ve never heard of them, they are notorious for their “picks” prior to the Grammy Awards and are correct more times than not.
DoubleD thinks that Jessie may get a nomination, and that makes me happy. Here’s what he wrote on the matter:
There’s going to be a big Grammy campaign surrounding Jessie James — some are comparing her to Christina Aguilera — so she’ll get nominated if she has some commercial success. Cobra Starship will represent the “old nominee.” They’ve been around for a few years, but are just now finding commercial success. I don’t think lightweight artists like Demi Lovato, Asher Roth, 3OH! 3, etc. will go over well with the blue-ribbon panel, but you never know in a weak year.
He notes that the overall field for the Best New Artist category this year is weaker than usual, so more under-the-radar artists have a shot than in most other years. Good luck to Jessie! I hope she does get a nomination!
